Refrigerator for Insulin

Just wanted to know if anyone uses a separate refrigerator for their insulin when on a long stay.
We are gone a couple of times a year for extended periods our longest about 3 months in the winter. I get my insulin from the VA in 3 month supplies.. Our TT refer is smaller than the home one so I would like to be able to have an additional yet reliable place for my medicine.A 3 month supply is about 9 boxes of pens as I take 2 different kinds. I did look at some of the dedicated medical transport refers but they are quite expensive. I also looked at Camping World and they have a nice portable cooler that runs AC/DC for a reasonable price with temp control. So putting this out to those that have used the portables for your reecomendations.

  • install larger propane tanks .. run off them.. maybe a second battery.. as well.
. to keep refrigerator running full time.
    .
as stated before.. remove from boxes... less space used.
  • My wife keeps hers in the refrigerator, and we have an additional cooler for other less critical items. We're not gone for 3 months at a time, but she unpacks the pens and other supplies so they don't take up as much room (don't need to leave them in the boxes they came in) and it works for us.
  • just do you know
portable coolers the thermoelectric kind only cool to about 40° from ambient temp
if it's 90° then the cooler will be 50° inside
I don't think you want one of those
