I see your point. I'm not trying to convince anyone to not buy the pig thing, I was just offering up a solution that has worked for me for the last 4 years, in case someone else might like to try it out. So far everyone who has seen it has copied it, and been very happy with the results. To each their own.
And just to clarify, it was a 6-pack of plate hangers for $5, the hook ends are coated with some type of plastic covering, presumably to grip the plates, so there is definitely no scratching going on. When I take them off, all six will fit in one closed fist, so they sure aren't hard to store. Lastly, I always use them in the fridge, so the fact that they don't work elsewhere isn't important to me.
