Moved across country a couple months ago (FL to CA). I have an iPhone, we used the AllStays app and the Gas Buddy app. We travelled mostly rural roads. IMHO, I believe the $10 I spent on the AllStays app was well worth it. I meshed my route with fuel stops every 200 miles. This gave me a good bit of a buffer incase i ended up somewhere that did not have diesel....i.e.....coming into CA from NV, the big truck-stop had ALL of their pumps shut down (replacing them). Wife was on edge since we had to go a bit further than desired for fuel.
