here in Colorado (New Mexico too) they make green chili and pork stew. It is the equivalent of Mexican gravy and is slathered on just about anything. I asked for it back east once and they brought me diced green chilies.
Another weird thing is the have these little ponds for holding water and they call them LAKES. Every time Honey sees one of these ponds I hear now there's a big lake. Each time I respond that no it isn't big or even a lake. One year we went to lake Powell and again I heard that it was a big lake. I said Meh, it's ok but not really that big. We took out a atlas and compared Powell to the great salt lake, that put Powells size in perspective. Then I flipped the page to show a national view and the great salt lake shrunk to a dot compared to the real great lakes. Now Honey calls the water here by what it is...PONDS.
Then again back in Michigan they have these hills they call mountains and people actually pay to make the 30 second down them on skis. lol
