We pay property tax on our camper. I'm not sure what you mean by an "excise tax" - we pay a registration/license fee every 2 years to the Connecticut state coffers, but it isn't too much, less than $100 - I should look, I think it's like $20.
"Property tax" goes right to my local town hall, and that is a couple hundred dollars. I actually don't begrudge that too much, as at least I can go to a town meeting and complain about spending, making me feel like I have some sort of control over it.
