In Missouri our 5th wheel plates are permanent, $52.50 one time fee. Regular trailers are $7.50 a year or $22.50 for a 3 year plate. You pay a sales tax when the trailer is first registered and titled.
But we also pay a yearly property tax to the county that is based on the value of the trailer. Mine was lumped in with the truck and wife's Expedition so not sure how much just the trailer was but total was under $600.
All states have their hands in our pockets. How else are they to pay for all the roads and services they provide? Sucks but what are you going to do?
