This is a little different issue than your original post. I can understand the motorcycle part year license. And I agree that it would be nice to do the same for a travel trailer. But, your original post was about what it costs vs how many times you used it. Winter aside, you could use it every day if that helps lower the per trip registration cost. Or take it to Florida and use it all year. I am certainly not supporting Maine's logic nor the ridiculous cost per year. Maybe that is why so many full timers use South Dakota, Texas, or Florida for their vehicle registrations, licenses, and residency regardless where they really live most of the year.
My post is not really price vs how many time I use it.....It's more like why do I have to pay the same price as a motor vehicle when it is actually a trailer.
Someone who owns a utility trailer and pulls his boat on it, will pay a flat rate on the trailer and the boat which are under $100.00.
Why is my camper not consider a trailer......and my license plate says "trailer"
