We have a 2016 Rockwood Roo 23ws (this is an hybrid). Every year we have to register the camper and pay the excise tax. Last year, it cost me over $600.00 and this year $486.00. (Price is according to the value of the camper)
Wow, your millage rate must be really high. When we owned our Hybrid, it was a 2006 model, bought in 2005. The first year we registered and paid the excise tax it was about $125. When we sold it in 2010, it had dropped to about $85.
When we bought our motorhome, brand new, we didn't pay $600 the first year for excise tax. I think it was $535. GA doesn't base their excise tax on the value of the motorhome, just the value of the chassis. Any vehicle bought new in GA does not pay an excise tax anymore, it's taxed at the time of purchase and then we just pay the $20/year tag fee.
