- Grit_dogNavigator IIThank for letting us know.
How much effort with the grafx stuff?
I've always been a fan of heat gun and razor for crusty old decals.
Eraser wheel for tough double sided tape.
I've got a bunch to remove on the TC if I get time.
Quicker the better! - ivbinconnedExplorer IITime to report. Eraser wheel burned the gel coat so I ordered the GraffXoff suggested. Bought the smallest bottle to try it. Works great! Will order a bigger bottle now.
- Baja_ManExplorerAlthough all the methods mentioned above have some degree of success, I used a plastic razor blade and a product called "Rapid Remover" on the sides of my aluminum boat. The decals on my boat were baked on after 13 years. RR worked like no other.
- colliehaulerExplorer IIIAfter trying several methods a heat gun from Harbor Freight and some plastic razor blades worked best for me. A hair dryer did not get hot enough. I have a can of decal remover and a 3M eraser wheel in the garage, neither work well on aluminum siding.
- Grit_dogNavigator IIBe real careful on filon/fiberglass with eraser wheels. They work, but burn the thin gel coat easily.

I have had good success with These Wheels
I've been considering the Whizzy Wheels too. Did you use those on a fiberglass or gel sided wall? Those wheels say not to use on plastic, which makes perfect sense, but it isn't real clear if they are safe on fiberglass. - theoldwizard1Explorer IINot cheap. 3M Eraser Wheel
- Retired_JSOExplorer III used a wallpaper steamer and a plastic putty knife with a great deal of elbow grease.
- ppineExplorer III use a razor blade scraper on a warm day. Why should we do all of that advertising?
- VeebyesExplorer IIThe easiest way to eliminate the ghosting of the surface that has never been exposed to sun is to put something over it.
Don't spend a fortune finding an OEM replacement providing free promotion to the builder. Having a custom decal made from a graphic or picture that you provide is far less & much more distinctive.
