I'm looking to rent a vehicle to pull my 5th wheeler and can't seem to find a rental location ANYWHERE...can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thx.
FF...
Its tough enough to rent a truck with just a standard towing hitch, let alone one to pull a 5ver!! Don't think it will happen other than a company or individual that moves RVs. - mowermechExplorer

If you go that route make sure the carrier is bonded and insured to protect your investment.
Good idea!
However, consider this:
IF I still had my fiver towing truck, and I was within a reasonable distance from you (which I don't, and I'm not), I would gladly do you a favor and move your trailer. If the distance to be moved is more than a few miles, it would be nice of you to offer fuel and meals.
However, if I am a licensed, bonded and insured, that means moving trailers is my business, and it will cost you at least $1 per mile for the move.
It is a sad commentary on our times when it is not advisable to do a favor for a neighbor! - romoreExplorer IIIf you go that route make sure the carrier is bonded and insured to protect your investment.
- azdryheatExplorerIs this a one time rental thing or are you looking to rent every time you take a trip? If it's a one time tow, and it's not too far, perhaps you might find someone at an RV park that is willing to tow for you for a small gratuity.
- shadows4NomadHere in KC we do have a local company that rents pickup trucks with 5th wheel hitches. You might check for a local company in your area as I don't believe any of the national chains do.
- Searching_UtExplorerI've rented diesel trucks with flatbed trailers and brake controllers from both Ryder, and Hertz equipment rental over the years. In both cases they were set up for bumper pulls though and I didn't check as to whether or not I could have got one set up with a 5er hitch. It might be worth looking into however as they do target towing operations.
- Chuck_thehammerExplorerto rent a truck.. say from U-Haul, ryder, etc to move a trailer.. you must have 1,000,000.00 commercial insurance.. as you owning a company .
I tried 2 years ago. - mowermechExplorerI have never seen a rental pickup equipped with a fifth wheel hitch.
In fact, I don't recall ever seeing one with a gooseneck ball!
If U-haul, Ryder, or Budget doesn't have what you need, you probably can't rent it. - 1492ModeratorMoved from Forum Technical Support
