renting tow rig

my buddy wants to buy a large, heavy trailer- I think it's a 39-40 footer travel trailer in the 12-13K range. My truck can't tow it- Was wondering is there any rental company that rents heavy duty trucks for something like this? I would think he needs an F450-550 even for something like this- any suggestions?

  • If he hasn`t towed before the last thing you want to start out with is a 40 foot TT!!!! I highly recommend starting with a 25ft TT. then slowly work up from there. it takes years and lots of miles to get used to towing! jumping right in with something like that is a disaster waiting to happen!
  • I had my tow vehicle totaled while in Alabama and the insurance company rented me a tow vehicle from Enterprise Commercial division. Youmight give them a call.
  • Any late model 3/4 ton should handle the 1100 or so pound tongue weight for a short trip
  • Have the dealer/seller deliver it as a part of the sales contract. They should deliver for free (or at cost), to get the sale.
