Replace Carpet in RV

We want to get rid of the carpet in our RV and replace it with vinyl tile. We're thinking of peel and stick squares. Is the use of peel and stick practical for an RV? Are there better alternatives for a do-it-your-selfer, with ease of installation being a primary concern? Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

  • I would use floating floor vinyl planks with interlocking edges. Home Depot has the Alure brand but there are others available that may be better suited to the temperature extremes RVs are sometimes subjected to.
  • Peel-and-stick sometimes becomes peel-and-stick-and-loosen.

A continuous sheet of vinyl is a better choice. If you've never done any vinyl installation, I'd suggest to have a flooring pro do the job. There will probably be a DIY'er post shortly stating it is an easy job and there's no reason you can't do it. Everyone has different skill levels and ideas about what constitutes a good job. If you want a good job that will last and not be a huge headache, hire it out.
