Replace carpeting next to slideout

I wanted to replace the carpeting in the entire MH. Removed all the furniture on the main slide and replaced it OK. Started to remove carpeting from the drivers seat to the rear, on the main MH body, with the slide in the "out" position. This slide drops down the last three inches of travel to create a level floor.

Discovered that the carpeting next to the slide out appears to be held in place with a metal strip that was installed at the factory prior to the installation of the slide. Can't figure our how to remove those screws without totally removing the slide. Any thoughts?

This is in a 2008 Fleetwood Bounder.

Thanks!
  • You may be able pull the old carpet out from under the strip. Then force the new under using a screwdriver or a flat bar.
  • Problem solved. Drilled holes in the lip of the slide floor to allow access to the screws below. Simple solution once someone else pointed it out.
