Replace waterheater drain plug ?

Brand does not matter.
Size of wrench(I use a properly sized socket with extension) maybe different.

The nylon plugs are available at RV dealers. Cheap, I carry a spare

Gotcha ! I just went to Walmart they didn’t have them so I’ll order on eBay

1/2" NPT is the thread size and structure (1/2" national pipe thread). 15/16" is the wrench size for the hex head. Similarly, a standard 5/16-18 bolt requires a 1/2" wrench; the 5/16" is the thread diameter (and it has 18 threads per inch).

Schedule 40 CPVC 1/2" plugs are rated for a 200℉ max at 118 PSI, so I wouldn't be too concerned about one failing at a 210° T&P relief valve rating at the typical 40-50 PSI used in our RV's. I've used them for years when nylon plugs were not readily available without a single failure that I'm aware of.

Yes, a Rep for Atwood told me many years ago that the hollowed out nylon plug could save damage to the tank if it froze.

I also heard the Attwood NYLON plug is an additional safety feature.

YOu can get the plastic ones at any RV store or you can do what I did.

I got a 1/2 inch CPCV nipple. not the shortest but the 2nd shortest and a 1/2 inch brass quarter turn valve... you can put a brass plug in the brass valve for "Belt and suspenders" level protection but man is it easier when I need to drain the tank
