Like the others, we rarely make reservations ahead of time except when we have a specific campground or site preference. In many years of RV'ing we've only run into a "Sorry, we're full." situation twice, and in both cases we were offered a spot to dry camp overnight until a site opened up the next day. Since we rarely know ahead of time exactly how long we'll stay in any one spot, or when we'll get there, making advance reservations would be difficult for us at best.
