So...you think it's a good idea - when your plans changed - to tie up a campsite another person could use, just for spite?
X2. I'd hate to think I took a spot that someone might need in an emergency just to satisfy my ego.
OP, did you ask them if they'd apply it to another time? I've found that many places, be they campgrounds, hotels, etc., will often do that. Even if it's in the past a phone call wouldn't hurt to ask.
