I've never felt like I was in the dark regarding any fees associated with Reserve America. Even many private CGs have some sort of forfeiture on cancellations, especially when you cancel close the reserved dates.
And of course you do realize that Durb's post may have been just a statement made out of frustration and not directly aimed at the OP.
I gotta say I share his frustration. This was a huge problem with reservations in WI State Parks some years back. People would reserve 10 days or more for a site when all they really wanted was the last 4 days of their reservation. Yes, they were willing to pay for the site and leave it empty until they really needed it. WI DNR changed the rules, if you don't occupy the site by the second night of the reservation, you lose the site.
