Apparently the Baby Boomers and the economy has changed many things. Some for the better, some for the not so better.

I think it goes back to regionalism:). I've always needed to make reservations whilst camping in most of the NE late '70's to date. Oh sure could be easier to find a spot weekdays but uhm it BETTER not include weekends. That Puritan work ethic keeps up it's Energizer Bunny ways, LOL.
