Reserve America requires SS number?

Wow -- what a response to this topic. Glad to see we are on the same page -- I refused to give it to KS for the purpose of reserving a campsite. In addition, I emailed KS Dept of Wildlife etc and did get a response. See Below:
I do apologize for the inconvenience when you were creating your account. I have reviewed our information and it appears that the Kansas State Parks do require a social security number if you were trying to make a reservation for a Kansas State Park. However, our website itself does not ask for this information and it is not required to sign up for an online account. I would set up an account first at the link that I have provided for you below and this link will not ask you for your social security number. I would then proceed to make your reservations from there and you should be all set without having to provide that information and again, I apologize for the inconvenience.

In conclusion to all this, I did reserve a private campground called Mill Creek in Paxico, KS. We are driving with small kids and need to stop at this point....driving on into MO is not really an option. We do prefer state parks but do ocassionally use private campgrounds. Too bad...Clinton State Park in KS looked like a really nice place to be........
