We've got a Resi fridge and love it. It has an inverter and 2 batteries that get some charge from the truck alternator. We've done a 10 hour drive, and the batteries were still pretty close to a full charge. The thing I like about it is that it goes from room temp to cold in about an hour. Stays very cold even when opening and closing a lot.
We are in the southeast, and it does not seem to be the boon docking choices that people have out west. All the state parks and COE campgrounds we have been to have water and electric.
If you normally camp with power I would definatley go with a Resi.
