Maybe I'm missing something but I have never understood putting the big heavy porcelain thing in something that bounces down the road and sways to and fro in corners.....I'm fine with the plastic deal and foot pedal. Actually easier than reaching for the cheap handle to flush. And the seat feels the same.Plastic is lighter. Our Terry came with a porcelain RV bowl with foot flush. Best of both worlds, you get the durability and easy-to-clean of porcelain without the hassle of a tank. Can't imagine anyone installing a residential tank-type toilet in an RV. Even qt 1.5 gal/flush you wouldn't last long boondocking.

Fema trailers have residential toilets, stoves and refrigerators.

I would think the only RV with a residential toilet would be a park model. I can't imagine anyone dealing with a toilet tank in a towable.

They work exactly the same but are easier to keep clean.

I understood the OP to have a S&B house toilet without a foot pedal.

He then installed an RV toilet with a foot pedal.

Our RV toilet with a foot pedal is procelein but I wouldn't call it a standard tanked residential toilet. It operates just like any RV all-plastic toilet.

OP - Could you clarify what you had originally?

I've never seen an RV porcelain unit. Don't even know what they look like or how they work! They look and operated just like an RV toilet.
The only difference is the toilet bowl is porcelain.
Have a foot pedal (or hand lever) blade valve, toilet bowl seal and a plastic pedestal.
Guess I need to do some homework - haha!
