If your DP was underwater than it would need to be gutted, new wiring, insulation and even the engine redone and think were else salt water could get into.
if salt water, it is ruined. not only rising water but spray/mist/vapor etc. can contain the salt and make a mess of everything. I once took a tackle box with metal latches/etc. on a boat in salt water. never again. a friend at work moved to the DC area from Puerto Rico. they were selling a car that they brought back. the inside of the trunk looked like one large rust pile. it had never been submerged, just stored in the good old salt air.
