Retirement

Hello fellow RV'ers. I turned 66 around the first of November and retired November 26, the DW retired December 2013. We plan to do a little more RV'ing than in previous years, as a matter of fact we are planning a trip to Florida in January 2015. Needless to say we are extremely excited about our new found freedom and look forward to the increased RV travel.

  • Travel while you can, don't put it off or wait for a better time.

    Hit the road ASAP. :)

You don't know what life will hand you tomorrow.

    Congrats and enjoy your retirement.
  • Happy for you.
I plan on retiring in May so I beginning to get excited also.
Can't wait to do more RVing.
It will be great that any time the weather is nice I can load up and take off.
  • Congratulations!!

My last day is 31 December 2014.
    I. Can. Hardly. Wait!

    See you down the road!
  • I retired in 1995 and bought a 5ver. Fulltimed for 4 years. For years I had been working 2 jobs. I became totally bored and started farming and ranching in WY. Now at 76 I decided to retire again. I'll see how it goes this time. For me going from working 20 hours a day to 0 hours was tough.
  • Congratulations on your retirement. I retired on November 26th myself, but it was in 2013. We put 10K miles on the FW this last year, and visited 28 states. We caught up with old friends, and family members we haven't seen in many years. My stress level before and after retirement is night and day different. Yes, I still have stress, but usually is from trying to determine whether I should use a fairway wood or stick to an iron....
  • Now is the time to get involved. Volunteer to make meals for the homeless, maybe deliver meals for shutins. I have know far too many people that retired, sat down in their easy chair and was dead within 6 months. Keeping busy is important to a long happy retirement
  • I see that big grin on your face.
From my take the happiest time of my entire life is right now after retirement.
We now snow bird each year in Florida, and it is amazing to see how happy all the snow birds are.
They all did their time in the work force contributing to society and now are reaping the benefits

    Enjoy !

  • For about a month after I retired, I set my alarm clock every night just like I was still working. When it went off, I hit the button, rolled over and went back to sleep, but with a big smile on my face.

    Like this. :B
  • Congrats!

Retirement IS everything that work wasn't.

Just remember it's isn't a 'vacation' any more.......relax, take your time and enjoy
