retreval from mud

Hey all, running out of time to get the camper home. shes a few hundred yards back on a friends property and its VERY soft (we have had the wettest spring I remember). There is a lot of standing water between it and the road. where its not standing water its super saturated. I've always managed to pull it out but this is the worst yet. My f150 has an open rear diff and highway tires. I will get her rolling ok (it winters on full lengths 2x12s so I can get some forward motion but im very leary. Was thinking about putting down some wood "tracks" Was thinking 3/4 osb ripped into sheets roughly 16" x 8 feet. Not sure if this is ridged enough to offer the support of if the osb will come apart. Also not sure if I should do them under the truck also or just the camper. anyone have any experience?

    and for all the people actually interested in this tread, I have no doubt I could yank her out. I'm being cautious to minimize unnecessary stress on my camper as well as property damage. Thanks.

    I pulled no stunt. I did what works for me and made out fine last year. I will make out fine this year as well (even though we have had the wettest spring in a long time with lake levels at all time highs). I asked about the integrity of material I haven't used much. Perhaps you weren't hugged enough as a child? Maybe you're just searching for attention. You never commented on anything relevant because you couldn't see past your own opinion regardless of how irrelevant it was. Hopefully you find what you need to feel better so that you can stop being an keyboard cowboy and start acting like a contributing member of this forum. Good luck.

    Tire chains will always prove a better grip. Since you have a small fleet of assist vehicles I'd go for it. 3/4" OSB will hold a lot of weight, especially if supported by ground underneath. If you don't want the OSB to get water-logged and wish to save it for a future use, paint the OSB. Even a coat of latex house paint will help to waterproof the sheets.

    Don't think ill need to in this situation but a si tidbit for anyone interested. long industrial zup ties and short pieces (aproximatly the tire width) of small dia sch 40 pipe work well and can be kept under a seat or in a storage compartment.

    Strap 2 short pcs of 2x4 to both your wheels at 180 degrees from each other. These will act as lugs an should allow you to pull out.

    close. Think the tentative plan is going to be to hook up with my truck and use the pw to drag/assist me. we will keep some boards around to throw under the camper wheels if she starts sinking too deep. The ZJ is going to stay on its trailer until its needed as I would like to avoid using it. If its needed for recovery fine but it digs ditches and is outright mean lol.

    Well 250’ is a lot shorter than a few hundred yards.
    And you didn’t mention you had a mud bogger and a big winch truck at your disposal.
    Hook the bogger to the trailer. Lead it with the PW and have the PW ready to winch to your truck or a tree at the road.
    He!! Your truck never even gets dirty in that scenario!
