My advice would be to use the Fall river entrance. I know that I would do almost anything to avoid towing a TT through downtown Estes Park. I don't even drive through just in a car unless I'm parking there with out of state friends.
If you come into town on either 34 from the east or 36 from the southeast, stay on 34/Wonderview Ave to the Fall River Entrance (look on Google Maps). It's a little longer drive in the park, but isn't that what you are there for? Gives a chance to see bighorn sheep or elk in Horseshoe Park. The Fall River entrance station is rarely as busy as Beaver Meadows, so you miss the crowd in Estes and the traffic jam at the entrance.
