At Bob's Big Boy in Burbank, CA, they still have a carhop service one night a week, while guys show off their muscle cars and collectible cars and such. Very nice atmosphere, and it's so much fun!

I always make chicken salad.

On our last long car trip, I brought along rotisserie chicken that I had sliced, seedless watermelon wedges, and pasta salad.

We use tortillas which we stuff with various ingredients and wrap in cellophane. Easy to unwrap on end and eat without any spills and easy to manage with one hand most of the time. We will use leftovers from dinner or scamble eggs and add various things and then wrap these in the tortilla for travel food.

We'll stop at a WalMart and get those rotisserie chickens, cole slaw and potato or macaroni salad. Use plastic silverware and paper plates - toss when done eating. You'll get at least 3 meals from this. Those frozen dinners are pretty good today. Not like those of the past. Frozen pizzas are also good. Canned stews with crushed crackers added are great in cool weather. Not exactly finger-foods but they're filling, fast and leave no mess.

every we go we are always on the look out for a good place for Jerky. Just found one when we were driving through Oregon, they made it right there cant remember the name but had 2ft pep sticks for a buck!!

I first saw the topic I thought tey were talking about scraping Opposuums off the road. After all they do it in Alaska and elsewhere.
