Road food?

Often times we find ourselves packing a meal and eating on the road, usually sandwiches. I'm getting tired of sandwiches... Any ideas on other meals easily packable for eating on the road? Stuff you can eat with your hands, can eat cold and not too messy.

  • crackers and cheese and salami slices, fresh fruit of your choice.
    hard boiled eggs
any kind of salad with ham, chicken, shrimp, or cheese and some good croutons.
  • It takes a spoon, but my wife and her family make noodles (bow tie, penne or those spiral ones) + mix in tuna fish salad with it. Keeps cold and is easy to eat with a spoon.

Cold pizza is always a win, in my book. :)

Wraps instead of sandwiches can be a nice mix up.
  • We often throw together a batch of TORTILLA ROLL UPS ahead of time.

Tortilla, sliced ham, turkey, chicken, roast beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato, maybe spread with cream cheese or ranch...endless options/creations.
    or...buy them pre-made at Costco.

  • A box of fried chicken stores easily in the refridge and can make 3-4 meals...
