roadmaster-tow-bars.com

Back on August 14th, I placed an order for baseplate brackets and tow bar adapter plate with roadmaster-tow-bars.com. To date, I have yet to receive my items - 10 weeks!

I have called repeatedly (approximately every two to three weeks) and each time that I called, I had to leave a message because "all of their operators are busy assisting other customers" each time that I call. (Yes, Because the demand for RV tow Bars and accessories is in such high demand these days!) :R

Although it took a day or two each time, they had replied to my call. However, each time they had given me an estimated lead time (along with a bogus excuse which changed with each call.) The various lead times came and went, and still no items. They keep saying that they've sent email updates, but that's a lie as I've recived not even one emailed shipping update. The only email I've ever received from them was the confirmation of the order received and that the credit card was being charged the amount of the transaction (they made sure that they charged my card quickly though!. Therefore, I know that they in fact have my correct email address in their system.

While I've been more than patient with these people, my patience is in fact starting to now wear thin. We're putting the rig away for the winter in two weeks!

Has anyone else dealt with these people? If so, what was your experience? Am I the only one having a bad experience with them?

I've had the same problem with Roadmaster-Tow-Bars.com. They do not return any calls, I have faxed them and their fax line is no longer in service. I did notice the charges to my debit card were made by Pro-hitches.com and their phone number do not work. I believe this is a scam company. I reported them to the BBB, to the Texas Attorney General (they reside in Southland, TX) and the Federal Trade Commission. They have a lot of my money and I have no equipment. I have had to cancel a trip back to Texas for Thanksgiving and now Christmas waiting for these people. Now I have no confidence I will ever recover my money or receive the equipment.

Can you post the address for them? I want to make complaints to the same agencies. They have had my money for two months but no product. I called the actual Roadmaster company involved, they have been somewhat helpful. They got them to send the order in, told me they were on back-order like everyone else, but Roadmaster said they HAD NOT been on back order for some time. Now waiting on roadmaster-tow-bars to send Roadmaster the money. Melissa at Roadmaster said it should ship by December 30.

To me it looks like they take our money and invest it to help make up for the lower prices and free shipping before placing the orders and shipping our products.

Lesson learned but this company needs to be help accountable for their wrong actions.
  • I reported all this online at www.BBB.com, www.ftc.gov and I googled the Attorney General of Texas. Each place has a tool for on-line reporting. They definitely need to be held accountable. I imagine they are still taking orders. collecting money and NOT fulfilling orders. I finally had to go to Camping World to get the brackets and wiring done. I hope you can get some resolution from this. I've given up hope.
I noticed they removed their physical address from their website. If you need it here it is:

    Roadmaster-Tow-Bars.com
    2600 E Southlake Blvd Suite 120-292
    Southlake, TX 76092

But their other operating site under a differnet name still has the address listed:
    Pro Hitches.com
    2600 E. Southlake Blvd., Suite 120-292

  • Why don't we STOP calling "Prohitches" ROADMASTER? Roadmaster is a good company with excellent service.

The "dealer" Prohitches, is the culprit...not Roadmaster.
  • Jim, please go back and read ALL of the previous posts. All throughout this topic, there have been numerous points to make a distinction between Roadmaster Inc. (the actual manufacturer of Roadmaster products) and Roadmaster-tow-bars.com (aka Prohitches.com) who is merely an online dealer.
  • Sorry, MTRUMPET,
The name ROADMASTER stands out far more than ProHitches.com, and that might lead to confusion.
    ROADMASTER is A+
    ProHitches is an F-
