Rockwood travel trailers

My RV dealer has showed me a 2013 Rockwood 2306 travel trailer which I'm trying to make up my mind to purchase.
For those who owned a Rockwood travel trailer, do they have good reviews?
Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

  • We bought a 2006 Rockwood Roo 233 Hybrid new. It's a three bunk model. We love the camper, but it had a few issues from the factory that we were pretty disappointed with. This was our first Travel Trailer (upgraded from a pop-up).

The factory didn't seal any of the outside comparment openings on the bottom. Since it came from the factory that way, I figured that was normal. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Had to replace the floor in the front half of the camper. The skylight over the shower also leaked because it wasn't sealed properly. The weather seal on the front bunk failed within 3 years.

While fixing both of these issues, I was disappointed to find many screws and staples that totally missed their mark. There were other poor quality control issues as well. When our camper was delivered, there was a yellow stain on the inside of the canvas on one of the beds. It was very obvious. Not sure how it got missed at the factory. We noticed it at PDI.

I wouldn't buy another Forest River product.

  • We have a 23' Rockwood Roo Hybrid and love it. We bought it new and we are now in our 5th season with very few problems (not self inflicted). We've done a few mods (changed the thermostat control, put foam under the water pump to cut the noise) but otherwise it's "as purchased".

X2 I'd stay away from anything with a EPDM roof and not a TPO roof.
  • seeing you are located in Canada, it might be wise to check and see if you can get one with a heated underbelly .... I've never seen one so equipped
