just got a small 21 ft TT weighing loaded 3900 lbs.
going up a 6 or 7 % grade in Nv. was doing 55 to 60 MPH and the RPM's were between 3500 and 4000 RPM's.
Am I at a safe range? is 4000 RPM's in the danger zone for my engine or am I ok all around?
thanks
It's safe at any RPM range. All modern trucks are computer controlled, (throttle by wire) even with standard transmissions. They are all protected so you can't do anything to hurt them.
You can even put your truck in neutral and put your foot to the floor and nothing will happen except the engine will rev to a predetermined RPM set by the manufacture and stop at that RPM.
Here that is being done to a Honda engine. If you want to get the most out of your engine your going to have to take it to peak HP. More than likely around 6K.
Bottom line, let the engine do it's thing. It's really smart and it won't let you hurt it no matter what.
