Running lights

Can anyone think of a good reason to have trailer running lights on from dusk to dawn? Sitting in a state park. No CG lights at all. CG is virtually empty & in the trees so it is very dark. Somebody must be affraid of the dark.

Yep. And maybe feel a bit more safe. You could help them out and explain that they could increase their security by also turning on their scare lights. :B and they could add some dingle-dongle awning lights, and maybe a few pink lighted flamingos out-and-about. and of course the new fad bucket lights.

you got a problem with pink flamingos?

  • running lights on, don't know why people do that. When we are at another trailer after dark in our usual campgrounds without any other lights, the yellow door light is on, so we can find the trailer. And DW has some solar mason jar lights with glass pieces in the bottom that give off an nice pattern and light up the path to the trailer. but that's about it.

We are all lit up until lights out time... I'm usually sitting around the camp fire playing with the fire pit...

At Myrtle Beach when we visit with my sister who lives inside OAKWOOD there all of the RV up and down the strip are all lit up with just about anything you can think - People walking up and down the beach strip looking at all of the different lights and things hehe...

I am off road alot back in the woods along a creek side and I am pretty much not running alot of lights etc... Just what I really need to have on... Usually never see anyone else out there wandering around...

I saw one trailer one time somewhere that had his running lights in flashing mode - First I thought it might be his having an emergency mode but then finally decided he was just flashing all of his lights for fun I guess...

You forgot to mention how they could put a flasher unit inline so they could also have kind of a strobe effect. :)

    No.
  • If you normally live in an urban environment you probably are used to it NEVER getting completely dark outside.
Might be a security blanket type of thing.

  • Honestly. I think some people just think its cool.

Does nothing for me. Everyone has running lights. Not too unique. But to each his own.
  • I've heard that it is a good way for invited guests to find your camper easily, especially if the campsites are not clearly marked, and the visitors haven't seen your rig before.
