Almost assuredly just a drive by. A salesman looking for a lead. I would bet that 90% of the people on this forum would consider selling and/or trading if the price was right. The note is designed to trigger that prey response. Since yours was a used rig, they had no way of knowing you just bought it. Actually, there may have been a few clues that generally mean the rig is sitting and not being used. Things like no worn areas leading to and from the parking spot. No worn areas where you would normally step in and out of the rig while parked.
It is obviously effective since it got your attention which wouldn't have happened if you got that same generic note in the mail. A salesman handing out 500 of these notes over a couple of days and generating even a 3 or 4 percent response rate will end up with enough leads to keep them busy for a month or two.
