We bought our current class C new via eBay. After unsuccessfully looking for a specific RV chassis/plan and not wanting to order one from a manufacturer, I turned to eBay and found exactly what I wanted in a year old model at a mom and pop RV business in western PA.
I contacted the business, negociated and sealed the deal via email pending personal inspection, drove the 1200 miles from Nebraska, and drove it home. We rented a tow dolly for our car after the initial break-in mileage and have had a wonder experience overall.
The only issues we experienced were this unit had been sitting on the dealers lot for an extended time and the AC failed prematurely, and I removed and reglued the 6 panel closet door as the rough roads we often traverse was no match for the panel doors original glue.
Our dealer was great to work with, and the unit was perfect when we showed up for inspection. All in all, I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Being expereinced RVers, were felt confident doing our own inspection, your mileage may vary.
