RV delivery via transport driver

I was considering buying a travel trailer and having it delivered from the dealer to wherever I want it, via a RV delivery firm that has a relationship with the dealer.

Has anyone done this?

Please.....I don't care to hear about the value of taking local delivery, PDI's or lack of them.
I am fully aware of all this....thank you.

Just your personal experiences if you had taken delivery in this manner.
  • up front I have never taken delivery of trailer in this manner........ however probably 90 plus percent of trailers are delivered in this manner from the manufacturing location to the dealer lot. If the dealer is providing the insurance for the transporter so you are harmless should an accident occur.. don't see a problem. Just get it in writing. I would recommend the dealer take a walk around the trailer and video the condition of the trailer and send you the video so you can compare it with the trailer when it arrives you should be good to go. This would be a way to keep the transporter honest.. before and after pic's :)
  • Good idea if you don't intend to move it again and can have mobile RV service if you have any issues.
