We have and just about everyone we have talked with has bumped and turned the range knob a bit. More than once we smelled gas before the alarm went off. The alarm is below the refrigerator.
Next time out I intend to see about putting a swing away bar or some type of small stainless bar that will move out of the way when you want it to but keep you and your clothing from pressing those valves. I intended to pain a flurescent red stripe or perhaps blue on the knob pointing straight up when it is off. Might have to get some help with a little bending. If it works withou drilling etc, I'll market it.
