RV Gas Explosion

I was stopped right next to this rig when it blew. The sides blew out, blew the windows across the street and the slide was blown out about 12 inches. There was only a small fire that was quickly put out. Luckily the people were not in it they were across the street. The owner said he had left the furnace on? Sure glad they were not in it.

I have to say this rig was in poor condition. Just want everyone to make sure their gas systems are running properly and all your detectors are working.

  • We had three different rigs do that after the last chili cookoff. Seriously, that must have been very scary. I'm glad no one was hurt.
  • One of the many reasons that we shut off the propane while in transit.
  • That could have been me and anyone else for that matter.

I had the stove knob bumped on by some storage tubs that where stacked by the stove when moving to the next CG. Filled the MH with gas.

Detector did not go off because the propane found the low point and the closest low point was the sink.

Glad no one was hurt it that explosion.
  • No, I was at the stop sign and it blew just as I was looking left to make my turn. So the blast was away from us but we felt it...
