we received AAA's denial letter on the graphics. They also denied the roof. All I said about the roof was it has bubbles in it now and didn't before. Wasn't really looking for a new roof but wanted to make sure that the bubbles weren't a result of hail damage and moisture.
They said "based on our investigation" (sitting on their rear ends 1000 miles away looking at photos), "...the damage to your vehicle appears to caused deterioration, wear and tear.
The roof has ripples, this is a known issue with Keystone, the RV manufacture. The decals were cracked and peeling and needing replacement prior to this loss." (they were there the day before & now they are not there on the left side).
It pisses me off that someone 1000 miles away can tell me the damage done to my RV and what they will pay without them or anyone else seeing it in person.
From the photos they didn't see the hail damage to the bottom skirt, the outdoor speaker cover, the rain gutter, the weather stripping above the rain gutter. All stuff that was clearly damaged. It confirms my fear that someone trying to assess damage from a photo will miss stuff.
I told them I was going to take it to a couple of local RV dealers and get their assessment. I was told that no matter what the RV dealer said they would still deny parts of my claim. Stanley Davis who claimed to run the largest RV dealer in Northern Arizona said RV dealers will lie to the insurance company to get things for the customer.
What steps does a person take to get this resolved? Contact the State Auditor, Securities and Insurance Commissioner? Better Business Bureau? Several people higher up in the chain of command in CSAA (AAA) insurance?
