RV lifestyle...

It's my DW.
She likes to have the full treatment feel when camping (Glamping).
For a weekend trip it's usually just the awning chairs and table.

When we stay for week or more then it's everything (patio mat, decorations, lights, candles, flags...etc).

I have spent 3 days setting up for a 3 month long stay.

depending on when we check in and the current weather I may deploy the awning and grab a lawn chair to do some PM reading before dinner...even on a one night stay. total time to do both is maybe 1-minute. for a longer stay i'll deploy the awning, get the recliners off of the back ladder and put the MagneShade sun screen on the windshield. total time is maybe 5 to 7-minutes. the grill comes out when we first use it and then stays out till we leave. beyond that we don't "beautify" the campsite with ornaments, dingle balls or any other sort of lawn art.

So this is not you since this is just a 2-night stay, a full day set up and, I assume, they are just half into their full package of stuff.

What about the disco lights?

I've only turned on mine once -- for the show-and-tell to my visiting sister-in-law.

Sometimes I fell the bells and whistles of my RV is largely underutilized, lol.

Why does how other people choose to set up their camp site or how long they spend doing it bother you? If they aren't infringing on your site or otherwise breaking the rules of the camp ground, why does it motivate a self proclaimed "Live and let live" guy to come on here and make fun of how they do things? It sounds like you are anything but a "Live and Let Live Guy". If they don't set up camp just like you and to your standards of camping etiquette, you think it's funny and feel it necessary to make a post on here about it. Why don't you walk over to them and tell them just how much comedic value you find in their set up and let them know you already went on line and posted about it. Then come back here and tell us all how well that went!

We pull in, hit the leveler button, hook up water/elec/sewer, open slide, always open the awning and set the picnic table under it and that's it, 10 minutes tops. The grill, chairs, etc come out as needed.
Conversely, we have a relative we camp with bring everything that isn't bolted down at home and put it all out including toys, games, etc. I don't judge them, I just grab a beer and sit in one of their chairs and watch for the couple hours it takes them to set up.

Same here. The only things I unpack are the things we plan to use right away or anything that's underfoot inside the rig.

The guy next to me on my last trip had ALL NEW STUFF. Bright red truck. Big 5th wheel. Starch white canopy with side walls. Harley in the toy hauler's garage. Lights.

I did not ask him, but I figured either Dad died or someone won the lottery.
