RV Lock Deadbolt Cylinder RECALL.

well that was confusing. Of course I have one affected, but the 800 number is only on one page of the site.

If anyone gets the chance, copy the 800 number and post it on here.

If your lock is part of the recall, you should contact Fastec for free replacement cylinders through our website at www.fastecindustrial.comor by calling toll free (800) 837-2505. We also ask that you complete the automated online response survey on our website at www.fastecindustrial.comindicating whether or not you need replacement cylinders for your lock as this will help us to track and expedite the recall process.

Oh. The recall only applies to TRAVEL TRAILERS built between 1 Jan 2006 and 30 APR 2013.
My RV is just fine.

I filled out the online survey and called the 800 number but only got a recording. Has anyone actually received new deadbolt cylinders? Were they difficult to install? How long did it take to receive the replacements?

I filled out the survey and called the 800# and talked to a very nice polite lady. She asked me a couple of questions, I gave her the number that's on my key and she said new lock cyls and the tool to install them will be sent to me along with a return envelope for the old cyls. and the tool.

I haven't received them yet, takes a while to get to Canada.

Well I cheked the my keys for my fifth wheel and it is on the recall. will be making the call.

By the way, if your RV is a year or so off the date, I would suggest you check anyway. Locks may have been used from a previouse years purchase.

Update: I made the call and have new cylinders and keys being sent, along with the HF-347 key to remove the cylinders. Less than 3 minutes on the phone.

Ditto. Although the person I talked to made no mention of the return envelope. In fact she said nothing about returning the old cylinders. Perhaps she forgot.
