OP you are right on. The horror stories I have heard and read about make me very cautious about getting another TT.
Everyone I have had has been purchased used. The last was purchased used from a dealer and it was a terrible experience.
I love the camper I currently hve and will do everything I can to keep it in good, road worthy, shape.
I do love camping and it does concern me that as time goes on, the used market will offer some pretty slim pickens.
Although I had owned campers for many years, two years ago I purchased my first (used) from a dealer.
Why on earth would someone (a novice) walk into a giant dealership and have any clue that they were NOTHING like an automobile dealership?
Why would anyone think that they would be told lies and promises, and even lied to regarding the safety of operation (tow vehicle and such) and that these mega dealers could do this with impunity?
Unsuspecting people are losing millions of dollars to this industry and all some of you can say is - "not to be rude BUT it was your own stupidity".
Heartless, just heartless.
I know of a great used unit that is up for sale if you are interested. Needs roof work. :)
Ha Ha - I am sticking with the one that I have and love.
Good luck to you and I am sorry you had to deal with that $#it.
