We've owned a Jayco Pop-up, Rockwood Roo Hybrid TT (made by Forest River) and our current Jayco Motorhome. We bought our Pop-up used when it was 9 years old. We owned it for 1 year and had no problems with it. I don't know if the original owner (there was only 1 before us) had any issues, but it was in great shape when we bought it.
We bought the HTT and the Motorhome new. The only real problem we had with the HTT was a leaking front bed, which seems to be common on HTTs and a storage compartment that leaked and killed about a third of the floor. I checked the roof annually and after a few years replaced all the roof opening sealant and replaced a damaged (by hail) vent cover.
The storage compartment that leaked was a factory issue. They did not caulk around the bottom of any of the compartment doors. When I re-caulked them every couple years, I did not caulk this area either as it came from the factory without caulk, so I assumed the bottom did not need to be caulked. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Interestingly enough, the storage compartment doors on our Motorhome also came from the factory without caulk along the bottom.
We have had a handful of issues with the Motorhome. Most of them have been issues with items not manufactured or assembled by Jayco, so I can't really blame them. One thing I was annoyed about with Jayco was a large, like 6" square hole in the floor under the shower that was never sealed. This hole was for a 12v wiring that passed from the undercarriage into the Motorhome. When I discovered the hole, I could see the grass under the coach. Surprisingly, it would seem only bugs entered into that hole. It was certainly large enough for a small raccoon!
I can't agree that they are all garbage based on our experiences, but I have read a lot of horror stories on this site about poor quality. We've been pretty lucky so far, hope our luck holds.
