And we were the opposite: bought an entry-level Class C Gulf Stream Conquest LE that gave us almost NO grief over the course of 10 years. Paid a whopping $44,995 for it; and had to replace a mirror, and a carrier bearing (could have been replaced under warranty, but we chose to have it repaired locally). Tore the steps off a couple of times, but that was user error ;-)
