A large, good quality canvas wall tent and a second tent/screenroom for cooking and eating could satisfy most family camping needs.
Of course you need some decent cots and tables and chairs. Unless your are boondocking, you could add a couple of cheap electric space heater or even a small window A/C !
Doing this would take a lot of planning and possibly building some custom cabinets/lockers for hauling thing.
