I am absolutely amazed at the number of posters who seem to be sticking up for the current level of RV construction quality. I guess some people just want to believe that they bought wisely.
X2 Nobody wants to come to terms with the notion that they spent $20K+ on a mistake. It took me 5 years to admit it to myself. If I really thought I bought a quality product I would have no regrets. But the materials and workmanship on TTs are a joke.
You got what you paid for. What did you really think you were getting for $20K when many cost 3x that? Is this your 1st TT?
Your right. It's my fault.
It really not about fault or blame. But more about expectations and knowledge. My last rig was similar in quality and price to your sprinter. It served me well. I had to keep up with the caulking and maintenance but in the end I never had any serious problems beyond the junk OEM tires.
It was an R-Vision 32 BHDS not a stellar brand. Just another run of the mill aluminum sided RV.
Fast forward to my current rig that cost a lot more. It has more amenities however I still have to keep up with the caulk and maintenance or it will deteriorate and self destruct real fast.
I've had no real issues other than the junk OEM tires again.
My point is yes they are slapped together but if you are diligent and proactive they can last you a long time.
On the other hand if you have never checked the seams and penetrations. Or walked up and down both sides and roof with a caulk gun, It may rot away in 5 years.
