After full timing for two years now and meeting and talking to hundreds of other fellow travelers one thing is apparent to me.
The RV Manufacturers are missing or unaware of a significant market segment that wants and buys RV's
I am talking about the many many people who travel together that are not married or a couple (of either or both sexes)that do not sleep together and need two bedrooms or at least two separate and private sleeping areas.SoundGuy wrote:

I am not sure what you mean by "so called platonic friends". But I was speaking of friends who are adults and want and deserve a private area, a real bedroom for each of them.
Seriously? You really seriously believe there are "significant" numbers of platonic friends who travel together but don't sleep together? Please - what planet are you living on? :R Manufacturers haven't "missed" a "significant market" - any market there may be is so small as to be insignificant. :R
Soundguy, you are being seriously RUDE.
YES, he is not talking about young working folks with families. He is talking about older, retired folks. Many of whom are widowed.
YES - These older people do still love to camp/travel and DO find companions to share the expenses and time with.
I happen to agree with the OP. I am currently retired and into my second year of snowbirding. My wife and I have a hybrid and it does expand to accomidate the occational visit of a MIL or sister.
HOWEVER - I do love my Hybrid but I do anticipate the day will come that I am not so in love with the labor of opening closing the ends.
I have identified a layout with a slide but the other end is bunks. These bunks a re small and intended for children not 65 year old seniors.
Right now us baby boomers are the consumers with the time and MONEY to spend. The industry would do well to listen.
BTW - If the industry was so intune with consumers, why all the dark and dingy interiors and dark exteriors?
