Every single one of my RV owning friends and family (and there are a lot of us) spends all their time outside while awake. We use our RVs for sleeping, cooking, and bathroom activities. My livingroom is ALL wasted space. Maybe things are different out in western RV parks?
Taking that maximum of 400 square feet that is allowed in RVs and allocating much more than normal to bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens isn't going to leave much for what the average person looks for, which is living space.
Which is why we have a smallish TT. Living inside is what we do during inclement weather or for playing cards in the evening. 95% of our waking hours will be spent outside. We got the bed and the kitchen we wanted, and the rest is just what came attached. In an emergency we could accommodate 7 or 8 sleepers as long as they could live with some "togetherness", but most of the time it is just right for the 2 of us with the king bed, couch, dinette, and bunks which are most often used for storage if at all (upper bunk for my clothes and lower for my wife's).
We don't profess to be RV'ers though, we are campers. We just got tired of setting up a popup. Except for the setup hassle, we were fine with the size of the little one.
