- fj12ryderExplorer IIIShoot, if I had to camp with a tent, or a simple pull-behind trailer I'd be hoteling and moteling it. Thanks but no thanks to "roughing it". BTDTGTTS.
- suprzExplorerI think there is a new generation of campers nowadays.. Or "glampers" which a term i hear more often than not. But in retrospect, what did our grandparents camp in? Where did they camp? More than likely they would have a lot to say about the way we "camp" now. Or should I say " the way we RV" :W. I look at rvparkrevirws.com from time to time, but mostly to get good info on the best rv spots within a campround. Not so much for the amenities. We usually go to a campground to get away from the everyday grind, not for the amenities. But everyone has their own way of camping

I guess it's just all the clutter on the page, it used to be easy to read most of the stuff about the campground without having to scroll way down the page. The info is still there, it's just more of a hassle sussing it out from all the other junk on the page.mittshel wrote:
What happened to RV Reviews. Their new format is not nearly as user friendly. Betsy.
What is different about it that makes it less user friendly? Frankly, I don't see any difference when it comes to finding rv park ratings. - HammerboyExplorer

Campground and area is extremely hilly: too dangerous and difficult for casual bike rider. (You're in the mountains of PA, not the middle of Indiana) Our site backed to woods and poison ivy. (Errrrr Daaaaaa. Its on a mountainside in the middle of a State Forest!) We had to stay on the pet loop: majority of owners didn't stop their dogs from barking. (I know this park, it has 270 sites and only 85 are in the pet loop. Its also never close to 100% occupancy, dogs bark, and no one twisted your arm into staying in the pet loop) The area of CG that backs to stream had an overwhelming mosquito population. (Ever hear of Deepwoods Off? The stream is moving water and does not support mosquitos, the woods however have standing water everywhere after rains, its the woods for Christ's sake) Hiking trails were not well groomed or marked. (This means "trails were not paved with asphalt", The trails are maintained and well blazed.) Firewood only available on weekends: (Not if you get off your lazy arse and go see the camp host to sell you some) park staff building was a 5 minute drive from CG. (So what, the park is over 4000 acres so perhaps they should have temporarily moved the office to the campsite beside you for your one night stay) Water spigots were sporadic and few:(Only if you don't take the time to grab a campground map and look for the dozen or so of them scattered around.) dump station clean and easy to access. Playground was just ok. (Certainly a deal breaker) Swimming lake had a gorgeous view but the beach wasn't very nice (Its not Myrtle Beach, its a lake between two mountains built by the CCC in 1938 and the DCNR trucked in some sand.) and the water was murky. (It's a stream fed lake moron, when it rains streams get muddy, and 40 acre lakes get murky) We would not camp here again. (GOOD! Go to KOA) - afidelExplorer IIIf the format really bothers you RV trip wizard now integrates RV park review information into the map interface, might be a better way to consume the information and supports two great websites for not a lot of money.
