My great grandmother was an avid amateur photographer. She took a trip out west in 1937 and shot pictures at all the major US national parks and British Columbia. I inherited her pictures when she died about ten years ago and I spent two years digitizing and restoring them.Three years ago I drove out to Mt Rushmore and Yellowstone to try to find the places she photographed and take updated photos. I managed to get about a dozen shots in the Tetons and Yellowstone. I plan on taking another trip in a couple of years to travel up into Northern Montana and BC to see how many of the landmarks I can find.

Would you like to share some of those before and after pics? I would be interested.

I'll put together a few of them when I get home.

I love seeing that type of comparison, where you can see current shots vs. what the scene looked like over 80 years ago.

I do that very same thing as does Vermilye. I use my RV as a base camp to see the sights but I also wan to shoot them too. SO I am up at 0 dark thirty or before and shoot till about 10 and then see the sights and shoot some things but then try to get the evening shots. I plan them out a head of time too.

My wife and I hope to start our fulltime RV life by January. She retires next week. And I am going to build a facebook page highlighting our new life of travels.

I'm another that would love to see the photos. I have a page on my website of photos my dad took on a 1950 trip across the country that includes Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, and a few others. Sure wish I had more images from the trip...

I was going thru my dads slides after he died and noticed one taken of my Mother standing in front of the big open pit mine in Bisbee. looked at one I had taken myself many years later and he and I must have been standing in exactly the same spot.
