If they built higher quality units they'd probably price many of us out of the market.
It doesn't cost a penny more to build something right.
Its not so much the quality of the material used, as it is the workmanship putting it all together.
case and point: I bought my TT at the RV show here in town. I picked it up in the spring of 2012. Among the many things that I found wrong (which were all due to poor workmanship), was the paneling that was on one of the walls in the bathroom. It was cut about 3" to wide. They installed it anyway. Obviously, it was bowed out like crazy in the center of the wall. Not only did the person who built the wall not pay attention, it also got by the QC (if there was any) at the plant, as well as the dealer prep before i picked it up.
If the employee cut it right the first time, it wouldn't have cost any more in wages or time spent during the assembly. As it is, it ended up costing Starcraft more money in the long run, because my dealer fixed it, and im sure everything was billed back to starcraft.
I also found one of those little 1/2" x 1/2" strips of wood they use as backers was coming loose under my kitchen sink.. The screw that was used to fasten it to the floor was put in on such an angle, that MAYBE 2 threads actually went into the floor. again, its not faulty material, or faulty screws. its faulty assembly by the employee.
