First of all, FORGET about a foreign manufacturer of large RV's saving us.
The market is simply not big enough to support the system of manufacturing which solves the "quality" problem.
Second of all, I myself is who will keep fixing things in my Dutch Star so that it will remain in service for 20+ years. The things that I have found out about the poor quality of the "hidden" items (substandard design and workmanship) is really an eye opener. But, since my motorhome is already an old RV, and I don't keep up with any improvements on current production, I'll simply just post about the subject of how to fix stuff. The manufacturers have their way of doing things, and for reasons that we can't understand(maybe). Take it or leave it. Me, I would buy another one, if I couldn't fix the one I have. I'm grateful that Newmar is good about having a good parts department,....very helpful. Also, I have to add that Newmar makes available diagrams and text on how to service and repair many areas and items of your RV.
